Water & Garden Hoses

The water hose finds its applications in many areas like industrial, agricultural and garden watering usage. A garden water hose is a flexible tube used to carry water from the storage tank to the garden. It can be augmented with a variety of attachments like a sprinkler or sprayer at the end. The water hose used in garden is usually made of synthetic rubber or soft plastic, reinforced with an internal web of fibers to provide strength. Given the excellent manufacturing techniques, a water hose is usually flexible and the usage is easy. The water hose needs to be robust and tough to survive scraping on rocks and damage to prevent leaking. A brass fitting offers great resistance to corrosion and eliminates any possibility of the hose collapsing or kinking to a closed position when pulled taunt from the faucet.

Coiled hoses are easier to retract back into their coil shape for a more compact storage. With good care and maintenance, life of a water hose can be greatly extended. Even with the best UV resistant hoses, long term sun exposure is the greatest threat to long hose life. During cold weather conditions, it should be ensured that the water hose is drained of before storage in order to avoid situations where the water hose cracks due to expansion of ice. There are different varieties of garden water hoses available suited for different needs. A coiled hose can be used in patio, balcony or a small size garden because it is stretchable and automatically resumes the original coiled position after usage.
